my work in television took me all over the world and people ask me what's my favorite place..and that's a tough one to answer, but honestly, it would be a 30,000 acre site just below mt whitney in the sierra nevada range called the alabama hills. and this is california, just 200 miles north of los angeles. this is where old hollywood would come to shoot westerns and tv shows like hopalong cassidy and the lone ranger.
indeed, its one of those 'secret' places where you have to be there to get a true sense of its solitude, magic and awe-inspiring beauty.
